The Sentier des Crêtes is a marked trail that leads to the heights of Ajaccio, offering superb views of the city, the Mediterranean, and the surrounding peaks. This route forms a loop that takes the two variants of the official trail, one for the outward journey and the other for the return journey.
The starting point is easily accessible from the city center. A bus drops you off at the Bois des Anglais stop, where the trail begins.
You immediately climb up a small steep path that reveals a beautiful panorama of Ajaccio. At the end of the climb, a fork opens up before you. The two variants of the route are presented to you. Turn right to stay close to the ridges, in a magnificent rocky setting.
Shortly before the fourth kilometer, you turn left to take the other variant and return to the starting point. You descend into a more vegetal environment, but still just as sublime with delightful views of Ajaccio and the Pointe de la Parata.
