Hiking
The Coastal Trail is one of the most popular Tours in Terra Nova National Park. Running along the inner shore of Newman Sound, it offers marvellous views of the coastal landscape, and opportunities to explore the sandy bays along the coast. You can start your hike from the visitor centre in the north, or the Newman Sound Campground in the south. You can also access the trail at the midpoint if you fancy a shorter walk.
You'll pass through the bird sanctuary where you can observe various shorebirds in their natural habitat, and maybe even a bald eagle if you’re lucky. A short detour about halfway along the route leads to the beautiful Pissamere Falls.
