A welcome cooling down on summer days. If it's really hot, it's best to dip the whole hat in ;)

The August Schuster House, or "Pürschlinghaus", is located on the ridge of the same name at an altitude of 1,564 meters. The hut is open all year round, with the exception of April and November.

From there, hiking trails lead to the Teufelstättkopf (45 minutes) or the Sonnenberg (one hour) and crossings to the Brunnenkopfhütte (two to three hours) in the Ettaler Forest.

The Pürschlingshaus can be reached from Unterammergau in about two hours, from Oberammergau via the Kolbensattel in about two hours and from Linderhof Castle in about two to three hours. The food offered in the hut is good, down-to-earth and has a commendable price-performance ratio. However, the hut is also very popular, so you can expect a lot of public traffic, especially in the warmer months of the year.

On this tour, it is a good idea to visit Linderhof Palace at the same time.
Tip: at 9 a.m. in the morning, there is a good chance that you will get a guided tour with only a few participants. After that it got full.

Leisurely excursion via Linderhof Palace in the direction of Kälber Alm and Latschenkopf. Since the weather has closed, it got really cool and the snow slowed us down badly, we decided to go back the same way (instead of the circular route via Hennenkopf). Nevertheless, a nice tour with a lot of sun at the beginning. There is currently some …
