Nerobergbahn Funicular

Highlight • Monument

Rack and pinion funicular railway powered by water. The drive system of the Nerobergbahn is ingenious and innovative. The carriage travelling downhill is filled with up to 7,000 litres of water at the mountain station and pulls the other carriage uphill using a steel cable. When the carriage travelling downhill reaches the bottom, the water is drained and pumped back uphill.

The two carriages have to travel 440 metres and overcome a gradient of up to 25 percent, and this has been the case since 1888.

Highlight • Natural Monument

Great local recreation area in Wiesbaden. Popular but still quiet because it's so spacious. One huge clearing.

Russian Orthodox Church of Wiesbaden

Highlight • Religious Site

The beautiful church of the Russian Orthodox community. From here you also have a view of Wiesbaden. The history of the community is told on information boards on the wall of the nearby cemetery. Very informative! The path uphill leads via the Opelbad to the Nerobergpark.
