The heart of the Catalan Pyrenees – La Fera gravel

The great La Fera crossing takes you on a comprehensive tour of the Catalan Pyrenees. The route not only covers the great natural heritage that is the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park and the Alt Pirineu Natural Park, but also immerses you in living mountains with ancient livestock traditions and culture.

The route is circular from the Pobla de Segur train station, but due to its length, you can start it where it suits you best and shorten it thanks to the variants (feragravel.com) and links it has. We recommend doing this Route between the end of June and the beginning of October, when there is more guarantee of good weather and that the high areas are clear of snow.

We also recommend that you carry out prior maintenance on your mount and that you bring tools and spare parts. Also, bring enough food and drink, as there are long stretches through high mountains and remote places.

The Fera covers both sides of the Pyrenees and runs through the valleys of the Noguera Ribagorçana, Noguera Pallaresa, Garona and Segre rivers. Its landscapes are home to an enormous cultural heritage whose traditions have been cultivated in this mountain range for millennia. Remote mountain huts, high mountain meadows and villages where time stood still centuries ago give meaning to the word bucolic. This journey is one of those where, when you return, you are not the same person who set out.
