Thanks to the new high-altitude trail on the northern shore, you can now hike all the way around the Klöntalersee. A very short section is still under construction, the rest is very well done, exciting route (T1/T2) with beautiful views of the lake. The Klöntalersee is worth a trip anyway, and even more so with the new hiking trail.
Regeneration run - after yesterday's tour - around Lake Klöntal - the photos make it clear why it is my favorite lake 🥰.
It's been on my "to enjoy" list for a long time - it finally worked - off to the Klöntalersee early in the morning! Great circular tour, with lots of variety and soooo many great atmospheres with the reflections in the lake! We couldn't get enough of it - which you can probably tell from the many photos 😎! We were almost alone at first - clockwise. Recommended, as most people went the other way - so we had our peace and quiet and kept stopping to enjoy the atmosphere! Autumn is already showing a little 🍁! It was a super-great circular tour with endless moments of pleasure for the eyes! I can highly recommend the tour!
We set off at 10:15 a.m. in sunshine. The lake currently has very little water. The circular trail runs largely through the forest with magnificent views of the impressive surrounding mountains. There are very few people out there at the moment, simply wonderful. (That's not the case in summer 😅😇) Finally, we went to the waterfall, which was definitely worth it. The clouds increased from midday onwards, but it remained dry at 13 degrees.
Finally done – the complete Klöntalersee loop! What seems like a long time ago finally comes together: This hike has been on my to-do list for ages. I'd already done the first half before – but back then, I escaped the rain by taking a bus. Today? Jackpot! Sunshine, clouds, perfect temperatures – simply a dream day for hiking boots and a camera 🥰 The lake itself? A bit shy at the moment, considering the water level. But the nature around it shows all the more character: mighty mountains, enchanting forests, and this almost mystical atmosphere that warms your heart ❤️ There's currently no news on my homepage regarding the remaining pictures. But don't worry, they'll be coming soon! Uploading them just takes longer than the hike itself... cough 😎🤣 Conclusion: Klöntalersee – I'll be back. And again. And... oh, you know.😋
An easy walk around a beautiful lake. The new trail on the north side of the lake keeps you off the road (though we did walk more of the road than needed) and safely in the woods. The views of the lake were impressive throughout, the waterfalls are a little thin this time of year, and well maintained trail was easy to follow. Interested in walking this in the fall with the change in colors.
After long long time, with our tiny mobile home, we went to Klöntalersee for 2 days. These two days the last hot days of summer. It is only 50 Km / 1 hour drive via Pragelpass to reach there. 13.4 Km hike around the lake is really highlight! On the street side they made a hiking way away from the cars with a fantastic view to Glarner Alps. In this canton Glarus, there were everywhere public toilets “tot toy” which makes us angry, if we think of our nice town Arth, as there is not a single one!
The hiking route around Lake Klöntal has now been completed. It runs along or near the shore, offering a variety of views of the fjord-like lake. On the southern side, the trail is largely flat and crosses several scree slopes. The route on the north side is a constant up and down, with occasional steep sections. The trail was rebuilt here last year and is very well maintained.
