I became aware of the region through the hiking magazine. Everything is nicely presented and summarized on the website. We have found a fine hotel near Bourscheid and enjoy the tranquility, the cuisine and the service before and after the hike. We drive to the starting point at the church in Bourscheid

Borderland Trails
May 29, 2023, Eislek Pad Bourscheid inkl. Feischterleen und Schloss

If I'm already in Bourscheid, I don't want to ignore the Feischterleen. As a reward for the extra kilometers there was an ice cream and a cool apple spritzer at the castle kiosk.

9-6-2025: Today I walked the Éislek path around Bourscheid. Varied walk with views, many narrow paths and forests. At the end the route was extended with a variant high above the Sauer. This walk is definitely worth it.

I became aware of the region through the hiking magazine. Everything is nicely presented and summarized on the website (https://www.visit-eislek.lu/de/natur-wandern/wandern) We have found a fine hotel near Bourscheid and enjoy the peace and quiet, the cuisine and the service before and after the hike. We drive to the starting point at the church in Bourscheid and we start when the weather is calm and sunshine. At the beginning it is mostly downhill and many paths are single trails and surefootedness is an absolute requirement, sticks are recommended. The short pieces on the district roads are not a problem because there is little going on this Saturday. A few forest farmers are chopping wood and it is absolutely quiet. Unfortunately there is no place to stop for a break as the hotel in Dirbach is closed in winter. We carry on, enjoy the splashing of the Sauer and climb steadily up towards Bourscheid. By car it goes to Ettelbruck. The small town offers enough places to stop for a break. We find a small cafe and there is a boxer with the milk coffee.
