This is a moderate hike (SAC T2 mittel) requiring good basic fitness and sure-footedness. The terrain is diverse, including paved, unpaved, gravel, asphalt, and natural paths. Expect some sections described as 'over sticks and stones' and a short, steep descent to the sulfur spring, where a handrail assists hikers.
Key highlights include the majestic Chessiloch Waterfall, the 65-meter-long Chessiloch Suspension Bridge offering views into the gorge, and a natural Kneipp pool. You'll also encounter a sulfur spring, lush forests, and potentially colorful wildflowers.

The UNESCO Entlebuch Biosphere is recognized for its exceptional natural beauty and diverse ecosystems, often referred to as 'Wild West of Lucerne'. It's a protected area that showcases unique moorland landscapes, pristine forests, and a rich variety of flora and fauna, making it a significant natural heritage site.
Today, on the last day of May, I'm doing a circular hike in the UNESCO Biosphere Entlebuch. I start in the village of Flühli / LU & hike up to the Schwandenweiher Kneipp facility - sulfur spring & further on a mountain path to the Chessiloch, there is a wooden bridge that led me to the large waterfall that splashed over high rocks into the Seebenbach. It impresses me very much, the very beautiful waterfall & here in the Chessiloch, a very beautiful place in the middle of the rocks, Chessi, purely romantic & I'm almost alone here. 👌 There is a at the Chessimätteli very nice picnic spot, there I make a detour to the suspension bridge, which is 60 m long & 0.70 m wide & 45 m high, built in July 2019, crossing high over the Chessiloch, just fantastically beautiful, then it goes Direction to Waldemme. On the beautiful Emmenuferweg, it goes to the village of Flühli, where my start and finish was. From this hike, I was able to experience many beautiful experiences & gratefully I go home.
The waterfall at the end of the tour is a real highlight. But be careful, it's slippery everywhere. There's roaring water everywhere, high rock walls and a wonderful picnic spot. Be sure to pack a little, it's fun for everyone. Even if the tour isn't too strenuous, if you go to Kambly, it still fits into your schedule. For dog owners, watch out for the shooting range on the way there.
