For me that was by far the most demanding and exhausting tour! Even the first ascent from Davos to Tschuggen is tough ... A rough affair. From the chapel in Tschuggen, the path winds safely up the mountain. Without a bit of fitness, nothing works here… The panorama is simply breathtaking and at the latest at the Pischa mountain station you have forgotten the exertion… .. or almost…. I just have a bit of trouble with sloping paths, then narrow, not really afraid of heights but great respect. The most difficult section for me was then - the descent from Hüreli… ..Oh man (s) that goes down. At about 5.2 km you overcome about 850 meters in altitude. I had to push the bike a few times (or most of the time) or run next to it…. Safe and good driving technique is absolutely necessary here if you want to "drive" the trail and not push it like I did. The view of Lake Davos is tremendous and you drive through a real "Alpine Rose Sea", provided that they are still in bloom, which of course is no longer the case.
Even with the e-bike it was a tough tour, I take my hat off to those who were still using organic bikes.
Demanding mountain bike tour on the Pischagrat in Switzerland from Davos. Uphill in the second part over approx. 500 meters of altitude is very demanding, only partially ridable for inexperienced mountain bikers. Wonderful flowing single trail on the ridge with a fantastic view of the surrounding mountain scenery. https://youtu.be/rYfzSY0KPLA http://www.timeout-outdooractive.de/mountainbike/mtb-tour-pischagrat/
Wait, I'm still crying... Now, holy mother Mary, what was that, my goodness 🤩 That was a fantastic tour, the scenery and panorama were absolutely amazing. The trail was amazing, even the way up was only a narrow path, and at times I had to push for a bit because it was incredibly steep and there were large rocks in the way. Without a motor, no chance; the last 200-300 meters of elevation gain become a carrying section. And as always, the warning: this isn't for beginners; this is enduro in the alpine region!! Should just be a warm-up for tomorrow 😂 One of my personal final bosses: 40km of downhill trail, the Epic Trail. I'm excited 🤭
What looked easy on paper (moderately 1000 hm cranking up comfortably) turned out to be a frequently blocked uphill, which cost quite a few grains despite turbo power. The beautiful ridge path followed by a descent to the lake made up for it.
Very exhausting "warm-up" round after arrival. The lower part of the uphill was still quite easy to ride, but robbed a few grains. The steep section of the uphill had to be pushed or carried almost entirely. Nevertheless, the effort was worth it. The descent was great. A great trail from top to bottom, quite flowy with a few tricky spots! Highly recommended. A real insider tip, because no train goes up to the Pischa!
The highest and lowest point is wrong by more than 1000 meters!
Technically very demanding. Especially the uphill from Tschuggen to Pischa.
