When the weather is good, you can enjoy a wonderful and wide view. To get to the tower's platform, you climb more or less through a folding door.

Trail Reviews

Sabine
January 12, 2022, Ludwig-Geist-Weg

This afternoon we went along the 5 km long Ludwig-Geist-Weg (marker: blue-yellow circle 3). The start is at the Goethe Fountain. The path first leads through the Goethepark and then runs over the Toepferweg in the direction of Hetschburg. A steeper ascent to the Adelsberg with its Paulinenturm begins near Hetschburg. The tower was locked, no flag was blowing, the inn on the tower was open. Then it went back down to Bad Berka. A nice round mainly on paths. Ludwig Geist is considered to be the discoverer of the healing spring of the Goethe Fountain. https://www.bergfex.de/sommer/thueringen/touren/wanderung/303384,ludwig-geist-weg/

The Ludwig Geist circular trail in Bad Berka, 4 km long, so good for a short lap. But it is not without it, steeply up and down again. The paths around Bad Berka are all very well signposted. And it leads past the Paulinenturm, where you can of course also have a nice stop. Finally, a culture tip. The Berlin pop artist Jim Avignon is only showing "WATER COLOR STORIES" in the Coudray Haus until November 6th. but is only open from Thursday to Sunday.

A short, beautiful hike for convalescents through the spa gardens to the Paulinenturm (Pauline Tower). Depending on your health, be careful of the climb and avoid going in the opposite direction, as it is even steeper. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes, preferably hiking boots. If you can still manage the Paulinenturm, you can climb the 143 steps to the top of the 26-meter-high tower. It is open until 4 p.m. in any case, and usually until around 6 p.m. in good weather. You will be rewarded with a beautiful view on a clear day.
