Hiking
From the imposing Titlis over four wonderful mountain lakes and numerous magnificent views to the picturesque Melchsee-Frutt plateau: This hike is a wonderful mountain experience that you can make as easy as you like with the help of the many mountain railways along the way. The route can also be done as a two-day hike if you stay overnight in one of the mountain inns along the way.
You start at the Engelberg train station. The first climb takes you past the Untertrübsee alpine cheese dairy up to Trübsee. You can also do this section with the Titlis Xpress by taking the train to the Trübsee middle station. Next on the agenda is the steep climb to the Jochpass. You can also reach this from Trübsee with a lift. Once you've reached the top, the Bärghuis with its special delicacies is a great place to stop for refreshment.
Then it's a leisurely descent to the bright blue Engstlensee, optionally there's also a chairlift. The trail continues without many meters of elevation, first to Tannensee and then to Melchsee. The descent to Stöckalp begins there. For this last section you have several options: From Tannalp you can take the Fruttli train for a bit. A gondola can do the descent for you or you can roll quickly into the valley on a scooter bike.
