Halfway up the forests of the Briedel Switzerland hiking area lies the Hindenburglay lookout point. A small pavilion sits enthroned on a rocky outcrop that protrudes from the steep, wooded slope of the narrow Moselle bend at Zeller Hamm.

Briedeler Schweiz

Highlight • Trail

The name for this wooded, steep slope with some rocks in the Zeller Hamm area may seem a bit exaggerated, but the narrow hiking trail, which leads past several viewpoints, is certainly a great experience.

Briedeler Schweiz is a three-kilometer-long, rocky, wooded escarpment between Briedel and Zell on the right bank of the Moselle River.
The tour, especially in the first half, offers several beautiful viewpoints along charming paths. Today, the Moselle Valley was stunning in the morning mist at the beginning of the tour. 😉👍🏻

Hello everyone! Today our sixth tour started from the hiking car park (free) Balduinstrasse/Moselstrasse in Briedel. You can find the tour under German Hiking Institute/Overview of Premium Hiking Trails/Rhineland-Palatinate/List with detailed description and GPS data. I liked the hiking trail with its viewpoints, slope and ridge path. However, I didn't like the last 4 km on wide gravel paths. I …

The sun lured me on an afternoon ride on the steep and crumbly Moselle slope between Briedel and Zell.
The path on the steep slope is less rocky than the name "Briedeler Schweiz" suggests, but it is slippery in places and has deadwood hurdles.
The climb from Beinter Kopf to Wilhelmshöhe is tough again at the end.

I visited Briedel Switzerland for the second time today, this time with @Manggongjai

Challenging are the paths through the steep slopes from Hindenburglay and the climb along the ridge path back to Wilhelmshöhe.

A very nice circular hiking trail on mostly narrow paths.
Great places to rest with wonderful views of the Moselle valley.

Nice little round from last weekend.
Exactly the right thing in view of the increasing temperatures: many paths, lots of forest and always beautiful vantage points.
The "lower" two (Hindenburglay
and Beinter Kopf) even better than the two higher ones...
Only on the section between Sündkapelle and the refuge of the "Rockfreunde Briedel e.V." it gets a bit monotonous...
Right …

On narrow hillside paths through Briedeler Schweiz🤩

Small rock formations and great views from exposed rocky outcrops into the Moselle valley and the Zeller Hamm characterize the eleven-kilometer-long Moselsteig side trip Briedeler Schweiz in the middle Moselle valley. The route leaves nothing to be desired and is very varied. Highly recommended.🥾👌🏼
