Absolutely recommendable swimming area to enjoy the crystal clear water of the Ybbs. There's a separate children's area for splashing around outside of the river current, and a simple restaurant.

August 27, 2023,Vom Lunzer See nach Amstetten
Today we took the Radtramper (bus with bicycle transport) from Amstetten to Lunz am See. On the bus we happened to meet Stefanowitsch, he shares great and interesting tours on Komoot. It was a very short bus ride. From Göstling we had a very strong headwind and from Hollenstein the sun was gone and it was heavily overcast.

September 10, 2021,Ybbstalradweg
This week the weather was once again very good for us, today I rode the Ybbstalradweg from Lunz am See via Waidhofen an der Ybbs, Amstetten to Ybbs an der Donau with my ex-colleague and bike buddy Andi.
From Lunz am See to Waidhofen an der Ybbs it was a dream of the scenic impressions and the bike path itself, …

Before autumn comes, I "had" to go on an (extended) 2 day tour again 😀🚴‍♂️😀🚴‍♂️

For the start it went by car to Lunz am See.
From there, the Ybbstal cycle path was on the program for the next 113 kilometers - up to the Danube to the Ybbs-Persenbeug power plant 🚴‍♂️😀🚴‍♂️😀
The tour is really beautiful and offers a …

The Ybbstalradweg will get new sections in 2023. The published information is the route of 2022, so the Komoot map with photos is only partially correct. The total kilometers and meters in altitude will also change minimally.

As soon as the new sections of the route are opened, the data on this website will be updated.

Today we leave the Lower Austrian Alpine region in the direction of the Danube, a long pleasure tour with few meters of altitude along the Ybbs into the lowlands. 💯

Get back to me after exactly 3 weeks of abstinence from cycling, high time 🤣☝ !!
Before I could even start again, I had to have my bike repaired on Friday. Since arriving in Flensburg 3 weeks ago, the rear tire - which gave me a "very mysterious" flat tire in Hamburg shortly before the end of my D-Tour 🇩🇪 …

Ybbstal bike path! Anyone who knows him likes him. If you don't know it yet, try it out!
Even on former railway lines, you accumulate a few meters of altitude upstream. A narrow valley is a wind tunnel, downwind of course downwind! And the sun does the rest to get you sweating.
If you don't just want to eat at …

With pleasant autumnal weather, we enjoyed the Ybbstalradweg, which leads through beautiful countryside, with stops in the interesting town of Waidhofen and in Hollenstein with its little church on the mountain.
