First thing in the morning is the ascent to the Birnlücke, followed by a challenging trail down into the valley. A head for heights and surefootedness are essential. Even in July, the trail crosses snowfields. Numerous marmots and cows are along the way. A stunning panorama awaits, with a break at the Krimmler Tauernhaus and the Veitenalm. Highly recommended!
