On this tour in the unique Sportgastein, you hike to two lakes in one go. You reach the end of the Gastein Valley via an old toll road - either by car or by bus. Once you have reached 1,590 meters, you can get started.
You can see the flagpole of the Bockhartseehütte from the valley floor. A beautiful path winds up to it - the most strenuous part of the whole tour is behind you right at the start. On the hill, the first Bockhartsee stretches out before you in all its glory.
The path now leads further uphill along the lake: you hike through lush nature, past old gold mining ruins and picturesque waterfalls. About 200 meters higher up, you are standing in front of the Upper Bockhartsee, a small natural lake that blends wonderfully into the surrounding natural world.
The same route takes you back, and it is worth stopping off for refreshment at the rustic Bockhartseehütte!
