Theme tour: Ice Age Tour Kraiburg am Inn Pürten Wörth Froschau Ebing Ecksberg Mühldorf am Inn Annabrunn Oberflossing Heisting Guttenburg Ensdorf The Inn, its riverbed and the effects of past Ice Ages that are still visible today are the focus of this themed tour: the starting point is Kraiburg, where the Schlossberg offers a wonderful view of the Inn Valley and the sweeping former meanders of the river. We continue across the Inn to Waldkraibung and Mühldorf. The skeleton of a 10 million year old "primitive elephant" was found 50 years ago near Ebing. The Inn terraces are also exciting: the geological rock and gravel steps illustrate the forces, the advance and the retreat of the glaciers and refer to the original river bed. In Mühldorf you cross the Inn again - in the summer months you have to take the historic Inn ferry "Josef III" - and on the south bank you return to the starting point.TRAFFIC NOTE: Due to construction work, the area around the Inn canal bridge Hart is temporarily closed. The bike tour is diverted from Niederndorf via the bike path along the St2091 directly to Pürten. The diversion is signposted. Click here for the diversion map. TIP: The "Heistinger Wand" in Polling is the last unobstructed impact wall of the Inn.
In great weather, a relaxed round to Mühldorf and back. Enjoyed nature and fresh air. Always nice along the Inn.
