If we think about Asturias and its lakes, for most people the first ones that come to mind are the mythical lakes of Covadonga. But those of Saliencia, in the Somiedo natural park, are a diamond that has nothing to envy.
On this Route you will discover the four lakes that make up this group: Calabazosa, Cerveriz, Almagrera lagoon and La Cueva. The path gives you endless panoramic views that will keep your mouth open throughout the entire excursion. It is a long route, with some fairly steep climbs, and is well marked with markings and milestones. Keep in mind that you will not find fountains, so it is essential that you bring enough water.
The Route can be done all year round, but in winter you may find snow and in summer it is very hot and there is no shade at all. Finally, the starting point is located at the top of Farrapona. There is a parking lot here where you can leave your vehicle.
