Hiking
You start your hike at the Mühlenbrücke and from there hike in a circular tour over the Hahnenkopf. The approximately 18-kilometer-long tour requires stamina and mountain experience, as you're going high up. You can easily reach the starting point using public transport from the Nebelhornbahn bus stop.
The summit of the Hahnenkopf, which you reach about halfway along the trail, is by no means the only highlight that awaits you. You hike along the banks of the Trettach and cross the Hölltobel. You then reach the historic mountain farming village of Gerstruben.
After you leave the village behind you, the alpine climb up to the summit awaits you. The last part to the summit requires a bit of climbing. But you will be rewarded with a magnificent panoramic view. You should also concentrate well on the way back, as there is a steep drop just a few meters from the hiking trail. From the crossing, the path leads with a wonderful view and through rare, protected mountain flora down to the Lugenalpe and from there down into the Oytal. From the Oytalhaus you can then enjoy comfortable paths that lead you back to the starting point.
Tip: Mountain scooters can be rented from the Oytalhaus every day from 3 p.m. This makes the return to Oberstdorf effortless and pleasant.

This route was planned by komoot.
Today we went from Oberstdorf to Gerstruben and then on to the Hahneköpfle to the Oytal and back to Oberstdorf there was ice cream at the Bela Vera ice cream parlour, the tastiest ice cream in Oberstdorf because they get it from the ice cream oasis in Fischen. The tour was very demanding because most of the way in the shade was still wet and muddy and there was still snow in a few places. The weather was pleasant and fortunately not so hot
If you want to do this tour, I recommend going to Birgsauer Straße 23-25 87561 Oberstdorf Parking in Germany. And then walk about 3.2km to the starting point of the komoot tour. The hour costs €1 and the maximum rate is €7 per day.
We hiked along the Trettach River, then up the Hölltobel with its magnificent waterfall to the old mountain farming village of Gerstruben and up to the Hahnenkopf. The ascent was somewhat arduous due to the muddy paths. Fog accompanied us again today. At the top of the summit, it cleared up, and the view was breathtaking. The descent was more beautiful, with magnificent views. In the Oytal valley, the sun shone, turning the meadows a warm green.
From the Oytalhaus back to Oberstdorf on scooters.
Very nice tour that can be run well with the dog.
