An amazingly good circular hike with fantastic panoramic views. To be honest, I hadn't expected anything like this around Waldkirchen. That's why I took the liberty of filming this hike, so that many more people can discover this beautiful route. If you'd like to see more beforehand, I recommend this

Trail Reviews

Tour around Waldkirchen as a tour tester for the Erzgebirge tourism association. GPS route not quite OK, but everything is easy to find thanks to the signs. On short stretches in the forest there is also mud after forestry work. Beautiful viewpoints on the tour.

As a "base camp" you can use the beautifully located "Schlossblick" parking space in Witzschdorf as a motorhome driver. There are also other excursions to Grünhainichen (Wendt & Kühn) or Zschopau.

First tour of the season, took advantage of the weather. Yellow/white markings and signage for the circular hiking trail were present from start to finish 👍

"A person, a good one, thank God 🙏 builds a bench for the hiker🚶‍♀️ to rest and enjoy; quietly. ☝️An inhuman being who does not want to suffer. With blind rage 😡 and heavy stone he tears down the building again. The hiker 🚶‍♀️ now, unrested stands pondering; who does such a thing. 🤷 Vaccination, even with high rates, unfortunately does not protect against complete idiots." A wise saying, as you keep coming across deliberately destroyed rest areas and shelters. Today it was supposed to be a tour that I saw at https://www.erzgebirge-tourismus.de/wandern. the weather: Temperature -3°C, dry, overcast ☁️, moderate, fresh SE wind 🌬, The journey/departure took place with the Erzgebirgsbahn line RB 80 to Waldkirchen, Starting point/destination point: Waldkirchen, It is only a short distance from the train station to the starting point at the historic former blue dye factory next to the Rolle mill. This is where the challenging circular tour around Waldkirchen starts. There are a few climbs to overcome, which lead to great views over the Zschopautal and thus reward the hikers. The markings are consistently white-yellow-white, and very well signposted ("Waldkirchen circular hiking trail"). The hike starts at the Rolle mill in the "Doktorhof" (former blue dye factory) in the direction of Serpentine to the "Marbacherweg" junction, the path leads uphill. Through the Mörbitz to the "Green Forest". There are a few seating areas along the way where you can take a break. We cross the road, walk about 200 m on the paved path towards Marbach, then on the field path towards Pfarrwald. We then cross the Grünhainichen-Waldkirchen connecting road and walk into the forest towards Börnichen. From the water tanks we walk to the wind turbine on the hill between Waldkirchen and Börnichen, then further down the valley to the Krumhermersdorf meadows, towards the Krumhermersdorf-Waldkirchen connecting road to the Waldkirchen village road and to the starting point of the tour. (further tour recommendations at: https://www.erzgebirge-tourismus.de/wandern ) Conclusion: • The route was recorded with GARMIN Gpsmap 67s, • The route and photos were automatically transferred to Komoot, • A relatively short but beautiful tour, • Signposting is very good, • Lots of information boards about flora and fauna (nature trail), • The condition of the paths is 🤷natural and easy to walk on • The short road sections were hardly worth mentioning, • Good footwear is recommended. • There are a few rest areas/shelters available, • If you like nature and beautiful views, I recommend it. TOP👍

On the road on behalf of the Lord, in this case the Erzgebirge Tourism Association. Another tour test. Easily doable tour. I don't know if they're still looking for testers. If you have the time and the inclination, you can perhaps ask Ms. Borrmann. a.borrmann@erzgebirge-tourismus.de ------------------------------------------------------------ Information for the @Erzgebirge Tourism Association e.V. see below

I'd had this tour on my mind for a while and had seen it on other Komoot users. Starting at Waldkirchen train station. From here, the trail first goes to the other side of the Zschopau River and then, behind the Rolle Mill with its mill shop, continues uphill to the "Heidelberg," "Wildenstein," and "Hoher Stein" hills. There are always beautiful views of the towns in the Zschopau and Flöha Valley, all the way to Augustusburg. Many details along the trail are beautifully designed, and the gnomes are also well-equipped. The surrounding nature is currently very lush, and there are plenty of things to snack on straight from the trees or bushes – delicious. There are plenty of rest areas along the trail. Restaurants aren't many. The only recommendation at this point is the sausage factory in the "Green Forest" with its black pudding – check the opening times. An entertaining, highly recommended tour that's enjoyable in any weather. Have fun exploring on your own.

Sunny early spring tour with lots of benches with a great view of the Ore Mountains and the foothills, paths in pretty good condition (not much mud). But otherwise no major highlights. The Rollemühle on the Zschopau is only really open on Mill Day. There is no food on this tour, but there is a model railway shop open. You don't necessarily get that on every hike...

This tour was inspired by @Karin 🔆 and @Johannes 🥾🚴‍♂️, thanks. However, you were there in January, so of course the area looked a little different. 🤪 Today I was able to easily use the Germany ticket again.
