Hiking
This circuit is an invitation to discover Mont-Lozère and Gourdouze. Departing from Vialas, you begin with a steep and sustained climb of around seven kilometers, rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views.
Before reaching the summit, Gourdouze, a village that has survived many changes and is now maintained by a cooperative of breeders, appears. You can admire the typical Caussenard constructions.
You continue with a long, easy and pleasant descent. Along the way, you cross broom moors and cobbled paths, surrounded by evocative granite boulders. It is the rocks of Trenze and the formation of Mont-Lozère which reveal the geological history of the region.
Once Montadou (1,203 meters above sea level) is behind you, the descent becomes steeper. At the end of it, you are back in Vialas. A visit to the Protestant temple which dates from the 17th century allows you to extend the adventure.
