The 1,877-meter-high Winterstaude is a summit rich in flowers and views, which you climb on this ten-kilometer hike. Sure-footedness and a head for heights are required for the ridge path, the so-called Hasenstrick. You take the Bezau cable car to Baumgarten, where the panoramic restaurant of the same name is also located.

The path initially leads over the open mountain ridge to the Hintere Niedere. Even now, you can enjoy fantastic panoramic views over the Bregenzerwald. Then it goes up over an alpine pasture to the Stonger Höhe, where the narrow alpine path along the mountain ridge begins. At the summit of the Winterstaude, a panorama awaits, stretching as far as Lake Constance.

On the subsequent descent, you pass a few beautifully situated alpine pastures – the Alpe Wildmoos is even managed and invites you to have a snack. The destination is the middle station of the Bezau cable car, which takes you back to the valley and thus to the starting point.

A hike with some nice, but also some not so great sections. It starts at the Baumgarten mountain station and leads over the Hasenstrick to the summit of the Winterstaude.
