What would the Canary Islands be without their famous rocks? The archipelago has many examples, but one of the most special is Roque Nublo. Located in the center of Gran Canaria, it is not only one of the largest natural rocks in the world, but it also hides an ancestral importance, since it was a sacred place for the ancient aborigines of the island.
The path that takes you to Roque Nublo (and its brother, La Rana), passes through an area of Canarian pines and gives you impressive views of the surroundings. In the distance, you can see the Tejeda caldera, the Pez plains and the Nieves well, which form an extraordinary landscape that will make you forget about the effort. As a recommendation, the sunset from Roque Nublo is one of the most spectacular in the Canary Islands.
The starting point of the Route is a parking lot where you can leave your car. There is also a bus stop, but getting there by public transport can take many hours depending on the point you leave from.
