What would the Canary Islands be without their famous rocks? The archipelago has many examples, but one of the most special is Roque Nublo. Located in the center of Gran Canaria, it is not only one of the largest natural rocks in the world, but it also hides an ancestral importance, since it was a sacred place for the ancient aborigines of the island.

The path that takes you to Roque Nublo (and its brother, La Rana), passes through an area of Canarian pines and gives you impressive views of the surroundings. In the distance, you can see the Tejeda caldera, the Pez plains and the Nieves well, which form an extraordinary landscape that will make you forget about the effort. As a recommendation, the sunset from Roque Nublo is one of the most spectacular in the Canary Islands.

The starting point of the Route is a parking lot where you can leave your car. There is also a bus stop, but getting there by public transport can take many hours depending on the point you leave from.

Today I'm taking you on a circular hike and summit tour to Roque Nublo, the iconic landmark of Gran Canaria at 1803 meters. This rocky finger rises like a gigantic sculpture 65 meters above the base. It's the remnant of a former volcanic vent, eroded away by the sea. First, do the circular hike to acclimatize to the altitude, then …

Today we walked to the Roque Nublo "cloud rock". Located almost in the middle of Gran Canaria. Unique walk on various types of surfaces. Spotted several trail runners and then it starts to itch 🤪. Unique experience. My daughter thought the photo of the Roque Nublo was "really beautiful" 🤣🤣

Today we went to the symbol of the island, the Roque Nublo (cloud rock). To be honest, I didn't expect too much from it... All the more I was positively surprised and I'm downright excited! A beautiful, mostly stony path leads from the parking lot up to the Roque Nublo plateau, along the way and at the top there are …

Today we set off alone again, we took bus number 18 directly to the starting point, the journey took 1.5 hours. At first it was quite foggy and cool, but then the weather showed its best side. We were even lucky and the Teide showed itself from time to time.
