Hiking
You won't only find picturesque canyons in America. Very close to the Hermannsweg, turquoise water glitters surrounded by white limestone walls in the most impressive quarry in the region, the "Lengericher Canyon". This loop, which is a good ten kilometers long, takes you along narrow paths through fragrant forests and directly to a fantastic canyon view.
The starting point is the hiking car park at the Hortensia Garden. If you want to travel by public transport, take the R46 bus to the Helios Clinic. The path leads past the Lengerich Sculpture Park and the beautiful Hortensia Garden, a little uphill and straight to the unique view over the canyon. The quarry was closed in the 1970s. Today it is a refuge for rare animal and plant species such as the eagle owl, lizards and colorful orchids.
The Teuto loop now winds its way between fields and forest up to the Leedener Berg and ends with soft, narrow paths where you started the tour.

Canyon view (Teuto loop)
The path owes its name to the "Lengericher Canyon" with its turquoise-blue water. This was created after the largest quarry in the region was closed and is now home to many protected animal and plant species. You alternately cross beautiful, varied forests, which offer pleasant coolness even on hot summer days, and meadow valleys …

The tour offers a hike through beautiful, varied nature, which mostly leads along natural paths, and mainly along narrower (forest) paths and paths. It goes through beautiful forest areas with some large ferns and along fields, corn fields and lush meadows.

Once again, a beautiful Teuto loop. Here, the inclines and declines were clearly noticeable. If you're not very fit, you probably won't have much fun here. The ground was frozen and easy …

Even better was the fact that there are actually two circular hiking trails there that touch or even go around this highlight. We had enough time and chose the longer and more challenging Teutoschleife CanyonBlick …

A driver on the motorway, who thought summer tires were a good choice given the weather conditions, successfully thwarted that plan.

The starting point is wrongly placed and is located on the hospital grounds in an employee parking lot. This also applies to the 'Canyonschleifchen' hike
