The Donzella ring is an easy and relaxing 67 kilometer ride to discover the history and culture of the Po delta. From Ca' Tiepolo you pedal along the Po di Gnocca to the Adriatic Sea. Walk along the perimeter of the Sacca degli Scardovari, the symbolic landscape of the Po delta. To return to the starting point, cycle along the Po di Tolle and then find the main branch of the river, the Po di Venezia.

Start from Ca' Tiepolo, located along the Po di Venezia and after about three kilometers you find the Po di Gnocca, commonly known as the Po della Donzella. Follow this branch towards the Adriatic Sea; Expanses of cultivated fields of rice, cereals and vegetables open up around you. After about 25 kilometers you arrive at the Adriatic Sea and glimpse Sacca degli Scardovari, the fishermen's valley where sea bass, eels and mussels are bred.

The Sacca degli Scardovari is a body of water and is one of the best-known landscapes of the Po delta. The name derives from the scardova fish, which was abundant in the 17th century. Cycling along this coast is spectacular and the wheels roll quickly next to the water for around 20 kilometres.

The last 20 kilometers you cycle along the Po di Tolle and then arrive at the village of the same name. Continue along the Po di Venezia, an important and historic waterway, mainly used for the silk trade until the 16th century, and return to Ca' Tiepolo.

Po di Gnocca Pontoon Bridge

Highlight • Bridge

This bridge is really impressive and it's exciting to cross by bike. It passes over the Po di Gnocca, now known as the Po di Donzella. In case of bad weather be careful because you could slip.

Along the Donzella ring, along the Sacca degli Scardovari, you find this naturalistic oasis, which deserves to be visited.
It is also equipped with a bar, tables and benches. Also excellent for a simple refreshment break.

Scardovari Lagoon

Highlight • Lake

It is a large body of water between the mouths of the Po di Gnocca and the Po delle Tolle. Mussels, clams and oysters are cultivated and raised here. The inlet is separated from the sea by sandy shores. A very scenic and fascinating place.

August 6, 2024,e ora Donzella un Po di Gnocca
Perfect tour for touring bikes or gravel that I made with my racing bike. Flat tour but scenically exciting, where you can breathe a salty atmosphere, where fresh water becomes salty. Land of fishermen and jobs, pedal with respect.

According to the plan, the elevation gain was 100. I have no idea what my Garmin is doing 🤷😜

I thought better, poorly marked and you run too much on the road and very little on the cycle path.

Today we're supposed to go through the Po Delta. We're not sure how we're going to go about it, or where we'd find good birdwatching spots.
First, we have to stop at the supermarket, which is at the very beginning of this very long, stretched-out village. So we drive along the Po de Gnocca until we reach Santa Giulia. The …
