Located north of Perche, this 80 kilometer route is slightly less hilly than the loops in the heart of the natural park. This results in more riverine landscapes, marked by ponds and rivers. There are castles testifying to the ancient development of the region.
Longny-au-Perche, the starting point of the loop, reflects the landscapes of the route. Its castle has a mill crossed by a pretty river. You then head east until you reach the course of the Eure. You head north and quickly cross the Senonches forest to reach La Ferté-Vidame. You then discover curious ruins which denote a much better maintained park.
The rest takes you through the surrounding ponds and castles. Some are sometimes gathered in the same landscape, as in Marchainville. That of Gannes, embedded in a body of water, is the best example.
On the way back, take the time to stop at Malétable to observe its curious church with its modernist feel. Then follow the course of the Commeauche which brings you back five kilometers from Longny-au-Perche. All you have to do is reach the town, your journey in the north of Perche is coming to an end.
