Today we drove over the Julier Pass 2284m above sea level and along Lago Bianco to Lago di Poschiavo 🇨🇭. The journey there was quite an experience. 👍🏻😍 Arrived at Lago di Poschiavo... at an altitude of 962 m, this beautiful lake lies in the middle of the Poschiavo valley, surrounded by mountains. The lake is a natural reservoir in the middle of the Poschiavino river. Due to its calm and clear surface, the surrounding mountains are reflected like in a mirror.
Miralago is a real insider tip. A small village right on the lake, with a train station and a super great restaurant, right on the lake with excellent cuisine 😋 A walk around the lake after eating is also a treat 🤩
Today we were on the way to Tirano with the Bernina Express 🇮🇹 🚂 On the way back we got off and did a lap around the Miralago.
Lake Poschiavo The Lago di Poschiavo, or the Puschlaversee in German, is located in the area of the southern Grisons municipality of Poschiavo. The natural reservoir is 962 meters above sea level. The lake is about 2.5 km long in north/south direction and one kilometer wide. The Poschiavino river is both the inflow and outflow of the lake, which is up to 80m deep. The route of the Rhaetian Railway runs along the west bank in the direction of Brusio and Tirano in Italy. The village center of Poschiavo is about five kilometers north of Lake Puschla. On the lake itself are the villages of Miralago in the south and Le Prese in the north. Both towns have Rhaetian Railway stops. The roughly seven-kilometre circular route around Lago di Poschiavo can be completed in just under two hours. Since 2016, the "Sassalbo" has been a rentable ship on Lake Puschlasee. It is considered the largest passenger ship in the canton of Graubünden.
