The loop tour is approximately 9.5 kilometers (5.9 miles) long and typically takes around 2 hours and 40 minutes to complete, depending on your pace and stops for views.
The trail is rated as moderate. While parts are easy, the overall loop requires good fitness and sure-footedness due to varying terrain, including stony sections and some zigzags.
The terrain is diverse, ranging from almost level paths along the railway to sections with boulders, unpaved gravel, and some paved areas. You may encounter stony paths and zigzags past steep rock faces, with a potentially steep descent to Alp Grüm station.

The train even makes short stops at Alp Grüm station for passengers to admire the views.
The last tour for today from Alp Grüm past Lago Bianco to the Ospizio Bernina train station.
Unfortunately my watch stopped on the way - so this wonderful tour is in 2 parts
First we took the Rhaetian Railway from Celerina to Alp Grüm. From there we started this beautiful, initially somewhat challenging hike to Ospizio Bernina. After a refreshment in the local "Beiz", we then took the RHB narrow-gauge railway back to Celerina.
Comfortable (standard) walk for two in the best weather.
A leisurely walk for two in perfect weather, with a correspondingly overcrowded train and also some hikers and bikers on the way, with the people soon spreading out. Very simple, but very scenic "hike". Unfortunately, the restaurant on the Sassal mason is apparently still closed.
