Wear warm and waterproof clothing when it is cold and stormy, or pack your swimming gear when it is warm and the sun shines brightly. You will travel no less than 22 kilometers through the breathtaking Schoorlse Duinen. It promises to be a long walk with literally many peaks and valleys, so a delicious meal and a refreshing drink at the Hargen beach pavilion after that time are perfect.
The route partly follows the Schoorlse dune top route and that means: climbing! However, time and again your effort is rewarded with the most beautiful views. At the two climbing dunes you pass, the fun makes you forget the effort you sometimes have to make.
Don't forget to bring your binoculars, because with a bit of luck you will encounter special birds today. You have a good chance of this at the serene Vogelmeer, where the geese stare at you from the water while the melancholy song of the woodlark comes from the bushes. Near the water you can easily see a natterjack toad. In addition to small animals, the area is also home to large grazers such as Scottish highlanders and horses.
Sand dunes, sand pits and fresh green forest paths alternate in the unique dune landscape. Marvel at the wonderful white dunes and fill your lungs with wonderful pine air. The last part of the walk goes along the wide beach towards Beach Pavilion Hargen.
The Schoorlse Duinen are such an incredibly beautiful and varied nature reserve to walk through that you want to enjoy them every season. Fortunately, that is possible, because Strandpaviljoen Hargen is open all year round. Is the weather beautiful? Enjoy the view of one of the most beautiful beaches in the Netherlands with bare feet on the terrace. Is it a chilly winter day? Then you can enjoy a tasty winter meal indoors.
You can park on Hargerstrandweg. Are you coming by public transport? Then get off at the Camperduin, Hondsbosscheweg or Groet, Kerkbrink bus stop and pick up the route here.
