Here is a beautiful hike in the heart of the vineyards. Starting from Chiroubles, well known for its wines, the route goes up through the vineyards to the Col de Truges. From there a small part of the road awaits you. The slope is regular and leads to one of the most beautiful viewpoints in Beaujolais: The terraces of Chiroubles. This place offers a breathtaking view of the hillsides located to the southeast. There is a restaurant on the bend in the road. I highly recommend taking a break and ordering dessert. They are huge, inexpensive and will delight the most gourmand among you!
After this stop the climb continues to the Col du Fût d’Avenas. It overlooks the plain and once again offers a beautiful panorama.
The descent guides you into more wooded areas. You take paths with ocher rocks typical of the region. This part which joins the Durbize pass is wilder. In my opinion, this is the most beautiful part of this route.
The route continues along a balcony towards the east to the Cercillon cabin. The descent that follows takes place in the middle of the vines and it is not uncommon to come across a few workers busy making next year's wines.
