The route quickly takes you to the special Ruige Gat. This is part of a beautiful nature reserve that falls under Natura 2000 status, which means that it is a European protected nature reserve. Here you can enjoy the unspoilt nature, leafy forest paths and the diverse flora and fauna.

Would you like to view this special area from above? Good news, because after more than 3.5 kilometers you arrive at the Starreberg Viewpoint. Here you have a great view of the varied landscape of the park. You can clearly see the boundaries between the forest, the dunes and the sea.

Ready for some relaxation and maybe even a refreshing dip? After 4 kilometers you arrive at the Oosterplas, a quiet and sheltered swimming lake in the Kennemerduin. This is a great place to relax and take a refreshing dip, especially on hot summer days. The beach is approximately 150 meters long and offers beautiful views of the surrounding natural beauty.

What about accessibility? You can park near the starting point at the Bleek en Berg car park. Or get off at Santpoort-Zuid station and walk to the starting point of the walk in about fifteen minutes.
