Pian de Ra Spines loop

This tour takes you to the Fiames plain on both banks of the Boite river, offering magnificent views of the Cristallo and Pomagagnon. The route, almost flat, winds north of the Ampezzo valley, where the peaceful sounds of nature and water become the maximum expression of tranquility.

Leave Cortina and take the former railway. Until 1964, this cycle path was the route of the Dolomite train which connected Calalzo, Cortina and Dobbiaco. The first two kilometers climb gently, but once you reach one of the former railway tunnels, the terrain flattens out. Pass the last houses and take the dirt path that takes you just before the bridge, where the route heads towards Pian de Loa.

The route crosses the Fiames hotel and enters the woods, opening into a delicate avenue, surrounded by trees with the Boite in the background. The dirt road takes you for about four kilometers to the house in the Ampezzo Dolomites natural park. Then, turn onto a path that crosses the Boite. The wooden bridge offers views of crystal clear water flowing through the green valley, a truly evocative sight.

Once you have admired all the views, the route changes direction abruptly, leading you towards Pian de Ra Spines. This stretch is spectacular, with magnificent views across the valley before the landscape changes and is dominated by coniferous forest. You can also admire wooden installations created by artists who wanted to pay homage to nature and Cortina d'Ampezzo.

Beyond Camping Olympia, cross the bridge and return to Cortina, following the first kilometers of the Tour.
