(The tour has a maximum of 13 km, the GPS stopped working a few times, so probably a few more km) Start of the round at the WP Fürstenhöhe. Through beautiful meadows and forests it goes past the Irrleberg and Zupferfelsen, then down into the Schmeietal. Along the Schmeie it then goes steadily uphill through the Uschental to the starting point. My highlight was the rare "Black Apollo" which I have now discovered 3 times in the following years at the Schmeie.
Petra and Teddy invited me on this tour. This hike is varied, with pleasant meadow paths, fine gravel paths, and, of course, especially narrow nature trails. First, we head to the various viewing rocks. The Zupferfelsen, just under halfway through the hike, is a great place for a snack break; a wooden bench is provided. Then we hike down into the Schmeie valley, where we can admire the rocks from below. There are educational panels explaining field names and panels with Swabian poems. Stepping stones lead over the Schmeie to a rest area with a barbecue. While perhaps not as spectacular as other hikes in the Danube Valley, this is a very pleasant and varied route that we enjoyed. It would certainly be very beautiful in autumn as well.
Beautiful premium hiking trail with lots of nature and great trails. Especially the passages along the Schmeie make the circular hiking trail a clear recommendation!
Of all the hikes around Sigmaringen that I have done so far, this is by far the most beautiful. 😀 Wonderful circular route on forest, forest and meadow paths. Despite the summer temperatures, it was pleasant because most of the route is in the forest. The first half is steadily downhill, although there are a couple of places where you have to focus on the trail. It becomes very clear that at some point things will go uphill again 😓 The last 2 km challenge you again, but despite everything a wonderful round without people.
Sunday sunshine tour on once again very beautiful narrow hiking trails in princely heights and along the rushing Schmeien until it rises again into the heights. The tour is highly recommended🌞
Today, a slightly different first comment from me about the tour: In the first autumn storm 🌪️🍂🌿🍁 of this year, I went for an afternoon ride on the Alb; enjoying the sun ⛅ between the trees and rustling through the leaves! 😄👌🏼 ...and, something I normally NEVER do in the calming sounds of nature: listening to music 🎧🎸🥁🤩 Because: today is the final day of the annual 5-day SWR1 hit parade, where songs and pieces of music are played that are chosen by the listeners and then played in that order! Here's music you don't hear on the radio all year, and certainly not in that order 🤩😄 Between the loooong tracks of Pink Floyd, Queen, City, Deep Purple, and songs from the concrete by AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Manowar, etc., you'll find pieces by Reinhard May, Schwoißfuas, Gotthilf Fischer and his choirs, and Hubert von Goysern! THIS is something you can't miss, and so today, instead of the sounds of the wind, the rustling of leaves, and the occasional bird song, we were treated to "Echoes," "Warriors of the World," "The Richest Prince," "Fear of the Dark," and "Far, Far Away" 🤩🤩🤩😁 The finale was celebrated at home in the living room, dancing along! 🤘🏼😆💃🏼
The start of today's tour was in the district of Sigmaringen. @Patrick Göser had invited us. Among others, @Christine/ Pfalzrakete 🚀🍀🍀🍀 @Rusty (Uwe + Sabine) @Peter53 and @daniel🥾😎🤩 were also present. We started from the Fürstenhöhe hiking parking lot. We passed a wooden cross to a small resting place in the shade where we took our first drink break. We continued to the Irrleberg viewpoint, where you can enjoy the view from a sun lounger. After the rest phase, we continued to the Zupferfelsen. From a small rocky outcrop, you could enjoy the view into the Schmeiental valley. Before the descent to the Schmiecha began, the lunch break was taken at the Langerfels. You have to observe the walking and resting times😉😂. Along the cycle path by the Schmiecha, there are numerous signs with "Swabian dialect". After about 9.7 km, we left the Schmeiental and headed through the forest towards our starting point. Conclusion: Donau Welle "Wilde Täler Fürstliche Höhen" was very varied with some resting opportunities. It was nice to have met some Komoot users personally, as well as encountering completely new faces and also meeting old acquaintances again. Thanks to the organizer.

We didn't like the tour. The path leads through the forest for long stretches. In places the paths were very narrow and overgrown. In contrast to many other tours we have done in the region, there were few viewpoints. We had to accept a 45-minute drive for the tour. It wasn't worth it.
