Coswig's KARRAS-Rundweg – hiking favourites in Dresden Elbland

Start your wonderful circular tour in the footsteps of Knight Karras! Depending on your mood, you can choose between a compact 9-kilometer-long variant or the extended 17-kilometer-long tour shown here.

The starting point is the Coswig-Spitzgrundteich or alternatively the castle car park in Moritzburg. From the Spitzgrundteich in Coswig, the path leads you along the Lockwitzbach, past the Zimmermanschen Teiche to the historic Kreyern forester's house. The Ilschenteich enchants with its ambience before you come to the S81 access/L-Weg junction.

For those who decide at short notice: Here you can turn directly to the water lily pond and choose the 9-kilometer-long route. Adventurous people take the path via Auer, the Münchenhauwiese and the Steinernen Weg to the impressive Moritzburg Castle. The tour takes you through the picturesque center of Moritzburg to Eisenberg and then further over the Luchsberg with breathtaking views. Back in Friedewald, you go through the St. Ulrich tunnel and follow the L and X paths to the water lily pond.

The last section brings both routes together again. From the picturesque water lily pond, you take the fork path to the Hoher Stein lookout point. A spectacular panorama awaits you here. Finally, the path takes you back to the Spitzgrundteich.
