The walk through the Wintrich chestnut grove takes you through over 130-year-old sweet and edible chestnut stands, which are among the largest contiguous chestnut forests in Rhineland-Palatinate.
The path is particularly suitable if you are looking for peace and quiet and relaxation. In the middle of the forest, you can fully enjoy nature away from the hustle and bustle. At just under two kilometers long, you don't need to bring much time for the round trip, but you can get the maximum amount of relaxation.
You start at the hiking car park on the edge of Kasholz and hike along shady forest paths through the forest. There are no places to stop for refreshments on the route, so it is advisable to take some food and water with you if you want to extend your walk.
