MOUNTAINS Picentini. San mango Piemonte (sa) Hike date: February 16, 2025 Km 3.7 ITINERARY: Circular tour from the Tubenna sanctuary - cross and mount Visciglieta - mount Tubenna - return to the sanctuary. Parking near the sanctuary. Water points: not sighted Picnic area near the sanctuary Vegetation: on the date of the hike 0, with a high probability of thick growth in the late spring / summer period. FORMS of life beyond the human: 0 Short and quiet tour. Doable in a few hours The first part does not present any difficulty, we went a bit off the path to get to the Visciglieta cross but there is a well-marked path between chestnut trees. In this period the low vegetation allows an excellent view of the route. Maybe in summer a little cut wouldn't hurt. Up to the top of Tubenna no difficulty. After that the stretch is slightly challenging, as the steep descent is on rock, there is no real path but by finding the CAI signs on the rocks the route can be Doable for almost everyone. The descent is not dangerous and is only slightly challenging for the passages on the stones that could cause sprains in case of distractions, but calmly it can be done. I could recommend the entire route to almost everyone as the distance is also short. I am not an expert in MTB, but the route could be doable, perhaps the rocky part is to be done on foot.
We find a convenient parking spot in front of the Santuario Monte Tubenna, which I would describe as a small mountain church. It's quiet up here. We start a short circular tour, which ends up taking us almost two hours, as we stop every now and then to gaze into the distance.
