June 16, 2025,Monterosso al Mare nach Vernazza
Incredibly scenic tour! Narrow in places - it's a toll. Included in the Cinque Terre Pass, and there are checkpoints that are staffed. Depending on the time of year, it can get quite busy here! We were there on Monday, June 16, when the hiking traffic was still okay. The route isn't particularly long, but at almost 30°C, it's still …

Beautiful tour of the Cinque Terre.
Good walking shoes are highly recommended, as is the day pass included with the entrance fee for hiking trails, inter-village trains and public toilets.

Today I completed the last section of the hiking trail. This was very narrow, especially towards the end, so we often had to wait.
There were stairs going up and down again.
Not recommended for small children!

Beautiful trail, challenging due to the many steps, but worth it. The views of Vernazza and Monterosso are endless. Vegetation, vines, flowers, and colors speak volumes! Recommended!

A wonderful path above the coast from Vernazza to Monterosso. The path is very narrow and steep and therefore mainly leads over stairs. There are many people out and about, some in flip-flops, which it is not at all suitable for. The view over the sea and the places is breathtaking.

Today we took the train to Monterosso - then a section of the official Cinqueterre hiking trail with an entrance fee of €7.50 to Vernazza.
At times you really had the feeling that entire peoples were on the move 🙈🙈🙈
The season isn't over yet.

Easter Saturday from Monterosso to Corniglia....like in a caravan on Mount Everest. hundreds/thousands? of people on this pedestrian toll road. It took a lot of effort to take a picture with no people in it. The hike was very borderline, certainly very nice with significantly fewer people. Nature is trampled, yes, it's basically a pity and should be changed somehow.

Today the weather was forecast to be sunny and rain was delivered. Despite the weather, it was very nice, but we won't be coming back here. Hiking is almost impossible because of the number of people. What must be going on here when the weather is nice? A hiking toll of €7.50 per person isn't bad considering the condition of …
