I was surprised to see this and can only surmise that it was built by the owners of the grand mansion that was Errwood Hall which is nearby.

This Komoot route was absolutely gorgeous. It had everything - big views, forest paths, rocky streams, stepping stones, ruins, waterfalls...
And stunning October colours 😍
A warm afternoon walk up to Shining Tor. This is a lovely walk from start to finish, and much quieter than the more well-known Peak District locations. The reservoirs were at an alarmingly low level. A pleasant walk along the reservoir and uphill through the forest. Fantastic views along the ridge.
