Rothesay Harbour

Rothesay is a Victorian seaside resort and is the principal town on the Isle of Bute. Renowned for its traditional harbour, 13th-century castle and pretty streets, Rothesay is a lovely place to explore. Within the town, you find an excellent choice of accommodation, places to eat and drink, shops and other attractions, making it an ideal place for a pit-stop or an overnight stay.

View of Loch Fad

Loch Fad (which translates as ‘long loch’) is a freshwater lake on the Isle of Bute that lies directly along the Highland Fault Line. The loch is classed as a Site of Special Scientific Interest due to its birdlife and vegetation. From this spot on the causeway, you get a wonderful view over the loch nestled between rugged hills.
