Hiking
Today you will play in the Biesbush play forest of Staatsbosbeheer. If you feel like it, you can then go for another 4 kilometers through the Bieslandse bos and walk along the Grote Plas van het Delftse Hout.
In nature playground Biesbush you will find trees that you can climb, branches that you can use to build huts, and tree trunks that you can walk on. I wonder who manages to keep dry feet all day long. There are nice ditches that challenge you to jump over them. Or pull yourself over the water with a real raft! Do you get wet or dirty? Well, that's what this play forest is actually meant for.
If you walk a few hundred meters from the playground, you will come to an impressive amphitheater in the forest. Have you always wanted to be the star of the show? Then this is an excellent opportunity to show your acting talent to everyone. Seat the audience, and perform your play. Has the scene ended? Then you can enjoy the water together here.
Continue walking through the Bieslandse Bos and stop regularly to spot birds. So take your binoculars with you and take a good look if you see the grasshopper warbler or the spoonbill.
The forest makes way for the water of the Grote Plas in the Delftse Hout. Not only can you enjoy walking here, but you can also swim. Don't forget to bring your swimming gear and take a dip! Children can play on the beach.
Swim out? Then you can walk straight back to the car, or enjoy a real Dutch view with a short detour.
It is best to park your car at restaurant Buytenhout or restaurant Het Rieten Dak. From both restaurants it is about a fifteen minute walk to the starting point, Biesbush play forest. If you choose to park at Het Rieten Dak, you can start the route at the pond. If you come by bus, get off at the Den Haag stop, Waterwegbree, and walk to the play forest in six minutes.
