Parnassia Route, dunes and wild horses – explore Oranjezon Nature Reserve

Welcome to the Parnassia route, located in the eastern part of the beautiful Oranjezon nature reserve.

This walk takes you through an open, wide landscape, where dunes with sea buckthorn, shifting dunes, thickets and wet dune valleys alternate. The area is bursting with life. Discover the special flora, including the white parnassia, that thrive in these humid dune valleys. You can hear the nightingale singing in the dunes and the woodlarks hover above you. Along the way you will regularly encounter a herd of Konik horses and you may even see some fallow deer.

Your walk starts at the end of a quiet, car-free road (Koningin Emmaweg 22). You can get here on foot or by bicycle. Convenient free bicycle storage is available. If you come by car, you can park for a fee in the public car park at Koningin Emmaweg 26. From there it is only a seven-minute walk to the starting point of the route.

At the starting point you will find an information board with fascinating details about the area and the different routes you can take.

You can arrange access to the Oranjezon nature reserve as follows:

- Children up to 16 years: free entrance.
- Holders of a donor pass from Het Zeeuwse Landschap: free admission for 2 adults upon presentation of the pass.
- Other visitors: €1 per person. Tickets are available at the ticket machine at the entrance.
