The trail starts from the Costa di Roncobello hamlet and climbs into the woods. First reach the Corna Buca locality and then the abandoned plateau of the Baita dello Zoppo. Just out of the wood, go up a steep stretch until you come out at Passo di Menna.
The path continues on the ridge pointing to the Cima di Menna at 2,299 metres. Cima di Menna, together with Arera, Grem and Alben, is one of the four peaks reached by the MAGA Skymarathon, a challenging mountain marathon.
Cima Menna dominates the entire stretch of Val Brembana from Piazza Brembana to Roncobello, presenting itself as a majestic mountain of inimitable beauty. Its limestone coast is a complex world of rocky walls, deep channels and ribs which constitute the main feature of this corner of the Bergamo Pre-Alps.
The Bivouac M.A.G.A. (Menna, Arera, Grem, Alben) is located at an altitude of 2,095 meters and is managed by the M.A.G.A group. of Zorzone. The bivouac is very rustic and spartan and always remains open, while the adjacent Rifugio Palazzi is usually closed and is opened at the request of the members.
From the bivouac continue towards Chignol d'Aral, a grassy peak at 2,068 metres, where you can enjoy a splendid view of the Arera, Mount Ortighera and the Val Parina area. For the return, pass by the bivouac again, follow the signs for the pass and retrace the outward itinerary.
