Hiking
This tour is an extended day tour. If you want to hike around 18 kilometers in one day, you should start early. But since there are many beautiful camp sites along the round tour, you can also spend the night in nature on the way.
You start your hike from the parking lot in an old, natural spruce forest. With a slight incline, the path leads in a straight line up the mountain. Even before the summit you reach a first barbecue area. After a short break, it's now up to the Joankielinen Fell. The stony summit is flat and very easy to walk on. A cairn marks the highest point. The view extends over the entire Lemmenjoki National Park. A partly steep descent leads you into the valley of the river of the same name. Two campsites with dry toilets invite you to spend a night here. The way back leads along the river to three small lakes to the parking lot.
As sections of the trail can be very damp even in summer, we recommend that you wear waterproof shoes on this hike.
