Päijätsalo Circle Trail – Päijänne National Park

The ice ages significantly shaped the landscape of Päijänne National Park. Here, the crystal-clear water of Lake Päijänne washes around a chain of islands that grew out of a ridge. Today you can relax on the sandy shores, glide through the water by boat or hike to the most beautiful vantage points. We have the Päijätsalo Circle Trail on offer.

You start at the hiking car park and dive into a fragrant coniferous forest. After about one and a half kilometers, the view of the shimmering lake water opens up. Always along the shore, you continue to the Pyydysniemi campfire site, where you will find a few rustic benches and firewood as well as a toilet. From here you have two options to continue: you either follow this route along the lake shore or turn east. The side path leads you up to a fantastic vantage point, which also takes you back to the track and the parking lot.
