The lido at the popular Maschsee is the starting point for the Eilenriede route, which is just under eleven kilometers long. You leave the recreation area behind you and drive past the Vierthaler Teich to the Döhrener Turm with its distinctive peak. Then you dive into Hanover's "green" lung, the Eilenriede. You cycle through the forest on flat forest paths and after almost three kilometers the restaurant Bischofshol invites you to take a break.
The Hermann-Löns-Park serves as a link between Eilenriede and Tiergarten - in the park you can make a detour to the historic post mill and the neighboring half-timbered buildings. Fallow deer, wild boar and deer cavort in the zoo. Finally you get to Anderten, where you meet the Mittelland Canal. The tour ends at the impressive Anderter lock, which was inaugurated in 1928. You can return to the center of Hanover on the same route or with the number 5 train.
