The fantastic views from the Schwalbenwand down into the valley with Lake Zell make up for the one or two drops of sweat that were shed during the long ascent. Starting from Maishofen, you initially follow Kammererstraße to Schloss Kammer, where a hotel is located.
Arrived at the forest, you change to a path that takes you up to the cozy Kammeregg Alm in many curves. The small hut with its magnificent floral decoration invites you to a portion of Kaiserschmarrn. With new strength it goes further uphill over the meadows of the Unterdilling-Grundalm. Before you reach the Schwalbenwand, it gets really steep again.
Then you've made it, your gaze wanders from Kreuz Maishofen down to the beautiful Saalachtal. If you still have some energy left, then definitely continue hiking to the summit cross of the Schwalbenwand at 2,011 meters. Back to the starting point you follow the same path as for the ascent.
