A straight, functional bank segment on the former Crosshaven Railway line. The fixed path width, straight alignment and open view of Lough Mahon make this a technically clear section of the Cork Harbour Greenway.

Trail Reviews

Christine🔹
January 7, 2023, 🇮🇪 Blackrock Castle, Mahon und Douglas 🏰🎄

Beautiful walk in one of the most beautiful areas of Cork. Start at Blackrock Castle free car park. The combined bike and hiking trail always goes along the sea with great views and lots of waterfowl. Then you walk on an old train route, which reminded me a lot of our colliery train routes at home, although it was a lot wider. You can still see the remains of the former Blackrock station. After all that fresh air, the pub break was well-deserved for drinks and pizza by the fire. It was dark outside again. Good for some last Christmas decoration snaps 🎅🤶🎄🇮🇪 of Blackrock Castle (originally built in 1582, today the café is also worth a visit)
