The way back on the northern side was particularly beautiful.
A nice lasso to the Sheep Head Lighthouse (Rother No. 10). Clockwise around the last tip of the peninsula over Ballyroon Mountain (239m) to the small but beautiful lighthouse 😊 always with a sea view, some beautiful cliffs. It goes without saying that the wind whistles quite a bit over there. The lighthouse was even open today because the LED had to be changed. We were allowed in and climb up to the lamp 😊 fascinating that such a small lamp can be seen 16km away 😳 we went back via the Poets Way, also always along the coast, high above the Atlantic. Highly recommended tour 👍🏻 in May many sheep have their lambs in tow 😍
A fantastic tour on natural paths through the blooming heathland along huge cliffs. Especially if you want to get a real breeze. And when the sun shines, the Atlantic is overwhelmingly blue. There is definitely a lot going on here in high season, but hardly anything at the beginning of September. We only met the first people again at the starting point. You can then end the day nicely in the small cafe by the car park - the soup of the day with homemade bread is highly recommended. Conclusion: Top tour and absolutely recommended! Must have!
Almost too good to be true. Walked the entire peninsula at Sheep's head, up to the lighthouse. Really incredibly beautiful. Rocks, cliffs, sea, lakes, height differences everything was there to call this a perfect walk.
