Hiking
On this eight-kilometer-long circular hike you can look forward to fantastic views, narrow paths along the edge of the Alb and comfortable wooden loungers to relax in. The starting point of the Hochbergsteig, which is one of the five Grafensteig premium hiking trails, is at the Zittelstatt sports field in Bad Urach.
At the beginning the path takes you through the meadow valley before you turn into the forest. You will soon reach the Wassersteinhöhle. You can enter the portal of the more than 30 meter long cave. You now go uphill a little bit and then you have reached the Alb plateau.
You walk on a beautiful meadow path across the flat area and enjoy the peace and quiet. You will soon reach the Kunstmühlefels, where you can make yourself comfortable on one of the wooden loungers and enjoy the wonderful view of the Seeburg Valley. With new energy you hike along the edge of the Alb to the Hochbergfelsen viewpoint and on to Michelskäppele. There are beautiful views of the valley and the surrounding rocks and mountains. Hiking in the Swabian Alb is particularly fun.
After you've had your fill, you head back down into the valley on a sometimes quite steep path and to the starting point of the hike. In Bad Urach you will find several places to stop for refreshments for a successful end to your day of hiking.

The first short hike is this one from the Gräfenstieg.
Super nice to walk, with great waypoints. I didn't know that there was a ski jump in Bad Urach. 😳
Beautiful viewpoints, a few meters in altitude and many forest hiking trails.
Highly recommended if you only have 2 …

At first the traffic on the nearby slopes was disturbing, later the silence, the chirping of birds, the smell of fresh hay and the chirping of crickets were just beautiful.
