Clash Wood

Highlight • Forest

Clash Wood is an area of mature coniferous woodland. There is an enclosed area within the woodland, protected from the deer, it's interesting to see how much the woodland would develop if deer numbers were lower.
Look out for red squirrel, brown hare, roe deer and siskin.
The car park at this point is a useful start point for a walk up to Carn Daimh or a loop including the Glenlivet Distillery.

The Glenlivet Distillery

Highlight • Structure

Glenlivet was established in 1824. This area used to be a fairly lawless place with illegal stills and smuggling. George Smith, the founder of Glenlivet decided to purchase a licence and became one of the first to legally produce a single malt.
The distillery is open for tours and tastings but closed on Sundays. Some seasonal changes to opening hours so do check before visiting. There is also a shop and bar.

A circuit above Glenlivet taking in the summit of Carn Diamh (Stag's Cairn) and passing close to The Glenlivet distillery. This walk started from the Clash Wood car park near Tomnavoulin but there are several other possible starting points.
