This route was planned by komoot.
The River Findhorn flows from the eastern Highlands about 35 km east of Inverness into the North Sea. South of Forres it crosses a gorge with a hiking trail. Randolph's Leap is a narrow point where, according to legend, insurgents managed to escape from pursuers by jumping over the river. The hike was suggested by Komoot. From the Sluie car park to Randolph's Leap, the path is mostly marked and mostly runs above the gorge with great views. The rapids at the narrow point are also a special highlight. A few young people actually jumped over rocks from one side of the river to the other. On the way back at Logie Steading, the suggested route unexpectedly ran over marked private property; there are no bypasses. The owner of the property "caught" me and kindly allowed me to cross.
